Leadership and international engagement capacity development
Public and International Affairs Strategic Leadership Certificate: This flagship initiative equips existing and emerging public sector leaders in Vietnam with essential and contemporary strategic leadership and international engagement capabilities.
Women in Leadership Journey: This course strengthens the skills, knowledge, networks and confidence of senior and emerging women leaders to lead on gender equity and equality.
Specialist Certificate in University Teaching: This professional development program builds the teaching capabilities of lecturers from VAC partner organisations to support the continuing professional education of Vietnam’s future leaders.
Strategic Leadership Workshops for the HCMA Advanced Political Theory (APT) Program: These Strategic Public Sector Leadership Workshops are designed for participants undergoing the HCMA’s APT program with the objective of enabling participants to think critically about the capabilities required of managerial leaders, with an emphasis on becoming effective leaders themselves.
HCMA Refresher Workshops (online/blended): These workshops prepare participants with contemporary leadership knowledge and skills related to the future of work, strategic foresight and change leadership.
Research and Policy Advisory
Gender Equality Index Research: This project is the culmination of research between the Centre for Gender Studies and Women’s Rights (GWR – previously GeLEAD) with three Australian Universities to develop an index to measure and progress women’s representation in leadership in Vietnam’s public sector. The next phase will pilot data collection with three central agencies and one province.
Doi Moi Research Series: This Research Series evaluated Vietnam’s socio-economic progress in the 40 years since Doi Moi to inform Vietnam’s strategic vision to 2045. It developed background papers and key recommendations for drafting the Document of the 14th National Congress. The research topics include: Global Megatrends, Public Government Systems, Middle Income Trap, Financial Sector Reform, Urban Development, and Challenges in Sustainable Development.
Partnerships and Collaborative Engagement
Knowledge Exchange: These activities help share knowledge, experience, and insights to build stronger ties between government agencies, research institutes, and the private sectors of both countries.
Vietnam Australia Forum: This high-profile annual event brings together Vietnamese and Australian policy makers, government officials, industry experts and thought leaders to share insights and possibilities on key regional priorities.
