The Vietnam Australia Centre (VAC) is supporting the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA) with regular targeted training, capacity building and research activities. Recently, the centre successfully delivered a series of nine Contemporary Leadership Workshops as part of HCMA annual refresher courses for longstanding provincial and district leaders.
More than 400 officials at management and leadership roles participated in the workshops from September to November 2023. They came from provincial and district agencies, schools of politics of provinces and centrally-run cities, and within HCMA.
The series of Contemporary Leadership Workshops provide insight into successful change leadership.
Through online sharing by Australian experts from Curtin University, participants gained updates on contemporary leadership skills in the changing work landscape and how to build strategic foresight capability to make better policy decisions.
Participants’ high satisfaction and positive feedback on the workshops demonstrate VAC’s position as the centre of choice for leadership capability development programs.
Associate Professor Amy Tian, Faculty of Business and Law at Curtin University, discusses leading through the process of change.
Participants work in group to discuss strategic foresight capability and responses to change.
Special discussion on women leadership
This is the second year that VAC conducts leadership workshops for HCMA’s refresher courses. The first series took place in 2022, soon after the centre’s establishment.
The workshops are among VAC activities to strengthen Australia-Vietnam collaboration in knowledge sharing and exchange. Through education, research and dialogue, VAC draws on Australian and Vietnamese experts to support and build capacity for Vietnamese leaders and managers in the new context.
