Governance arrangements for the VAC ensure all partners in both Vietnam and Australia have oversight and influence over VAC directions, reflecting the true joint nature of this initiative.

The VAC Steering Committee approves all VAC strategies, policies, partnership agreements, budgets and reports. The Steering Committee comprises senior officials from Australia, representing the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and from Vietnam, representing Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations and the Office of the Government. The President of HCMA and the Australian Ambassador to Vietnam are Co-Chairs of the Steering Committee.

The VAC Executive Committee oversees the day-to-day operations of the VAC, as delivered through the Aus4Skills program. This includes reviewing and approving detailed budgets, workplans and progress reports.
