The Vietnam Australia Centre Project Steering Committee held its second meeting on 10 January 2023 in Hanoi.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA), Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Theoretical Council and H.E. Andrew Goledzinowski, Australian Ambassador to Vietnam co-chaired the meeting.
The VAC Project Steering Committee discusses its six-month results and workplans.
The committee received updates on its six-month results, with highlights included ongoing provision of leadership training for senior Vietnamese officials and alignment of priority needs among partners to inform the VAC’s four-year strategy (2023-2026).
In his speech at the welcoming ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang lauded the VAC Project as an important highlight in the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Australia. The project will boost the capacity of Vietnam’s leaders to meet the country’s demand for integration and development.
Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Andrew Goledzinowski affirmed that the most important task during his term in Vietnam is to constantly reinforce and strengthen political trust because this is an important foundation for Vietnam-Australia relations.
Vietnam and Australia will continue to collaborate in strengthening Vietnamese public sector leadership and policy development and build a stronger, more positive relationship.
On the same day, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang and Mr Andrew Goledzinowski jointly unveiled the Vietnam-Australia Centre (VAC) signage on 10 January 2023 in Hanoi.

The VAC is an initiative of the Australian and Vietnamese Governments focused on establishing an elite and prestigious leadership capability development program for Vietnam.
