25 female Vietnamese leaders are ready to join a two-week study program in Australia as part of the “Women in Leadership Journey” (WILJ), an Australia Awards Short Course supported by the Australian Government.
During the trip, participants will have the opportunity to gain first-hand experience on how gender is addressed in Australia.
WILJ4 participants attend a pre-departure briefing.
They will develop and present a plan on how they will apply a gender lens to their job in Vietnam.
This can include plans covering a range of tasks such as including women’s views in policy development, human resources practices that support women as leaders, or services delivered to the community that better meet the needs of women.
The WILJ4 also includes several training activities across Vietnam.
This is the fourth course supported by the Australian Government and is delivered by the Vietnam Australia Centre.
This course aims at increasing in the representation of women in leadership and decision-making positions at all levels.
The participants have returned to Vietnam to implement their plans, with ongoing mentoring and support from Australia.
